  • The session is designed to assist participants with techniques and strategies. Participants will learn how to engineer a classroom, creating an engaging space that infuses project-based learning.

  • This session allows participants to analyze and score their classroom practices.  By the end of the course, participants will have a better understanding of STEM classroom design and setup.  They will be able to identify the SAMR model and how it can help measure their classroom STEM goals?

 

**WHAT IS PROJECT-BASED LEARNING (PBL)

  • The session provides a strong introduction and an in-depth perspective of project-based learning. Participants will experience multiple facets of the platform while using hands-on STEM activities.  2 Day Workshop

 

**WHAT IS TRUE STEM?

  • The session is designed to assist participants in implementing a paradigm shift from traditional to non-traditional teaching methodologies. How to use PBL and deliver STEM as an instructional delivery tool.  2 Day Workshop 

 

**INTEGRATING STANDARDS AND CROSS CONTENT USING PBL & STEM

  • The session equips Participants with principles; how to develop project-based and STEM learning plans, and integrating standards and cross-curricula content.  2 Day Workshop

 

**HOW TO INTEGRATE COMPUTER SCIENCE FUNDAMENTALS 

  • Participants will learn how to apply the fundamentals of computer science into core subjects using the exploratory method.  Participants learn how to use open source applications to enhance and increase student engagement.  2 Day Workshop

CIRCUIT ENGINEERING

  • Circuit engineering teaches participants the fundamentals of circuits and the practical understanding of electronics requirements for building a circuit.

 

CIRCUITS 123D

  • Circuits 123D teaches participants how to design circuits, program Arduino and run simulations.  The 123D circuit activities empower participants to be innovative while using their imagination.

 

CIRCUIT SCRIBE

  • Circuit Scribe uses a non-toxic, silver conductive ink pen and several interactive modules to create circuits while teaching participants the fundamentals of electricity.  

 

AGRICULTURE TECHNOLOGY

  • Agriculture technology teaches participants how to use sensors and circuits to pre-define moisture thresholds, compare, collect, and record data.  Scratch coding application is used to collect data.

 

ARDUINO

  • Arduino teaches participants how to assemble a circuit, find the code, and upload it to the Arduino software or device.

 

LITTLE BITS

  • Little Bits engages and exposes participants to the engineering design process by engineering and connecting circuit-boards based on their required function.

  • App Inventor is an introductory way of exposing participants and participants to application development.  Participants learn; how to transform text-based coding into visual and drag-and-drop building blocks. 

 

MOBILE APP & GAMING

  • Participants create mobile and gaming applications by writing JavaScript using Bitsbox software.

PROGRAMMING, COMPUTER SCIENCE

BLOCKLY 

  • Blocky is a web-based graphical editor that teaches participants basic coding principles. With no typing required, participants can drag blocks together to build a software application.

 

CODE COMBAT

  • Code Combat exposes participants to principles of computer science through interactive video game challenges.   

 

PYTHON  (Advanced Programming)

  • Python is an excellent introduction to fundamental programming concepts.  It is concise, easy to read, and used for web, software development, and scientific applications.

 

RASPBERRY PI (BEGINNER & INTERMEDIATE LEVELS)

  • Participants explore computing and programming in languages like Scratch and Python.  The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer that plugs into a computer monitor or panel display and uses a standard keyboard and mouse.

 

SCRATCH 

  • Scratch teaches participants how to program using stories, games, and animation.  Scratch uses a block style drag-and-drop interface that allows participants to create sprites, music, and other features.

 

SNAP

  • Snap teaches participants how to develop computer games with 3D models using a visual, drag-and-drop programming language.
